Refresh.

October 5, 2010

This last weekend was a refreshing weekend.

1. I moved the coffee table out of the living room. Who knew that would give my house the refresh it need? My living room feels so much bigger and less cluttered. Of course, the coffee table was the perfect place to display my fall decorations but, with Miss Sophie becoming an  investigative whirlwind the decorations ending up on the floor most days anyways. I love the new open space. It feels so refreshing. And now Sophie will just play with her toys in the middle for the floor. Before I moved that table she was always busy investigating the table, moving decorations, and moving all the books and magazines. Now, there is nothing but floor space for her and her toys. I am lovin' it!

2. I got a new hair-do. I had long hair, which I loved, but was getting a little bored of it. I cut my hair to my shoulders. This is my typical routine.... short hair, then grow it out long, get sick of it, cut it short again. Repeat. With my short hair cut I have noticed I spend the same amount of time getting ready in the morning, I just feel like my hair is actually styled and a little bit more put together.  I am lovin' my new refreshing haircut.

3. Listening to General Conference was refreshing and uplifting. I always feel positive and ready to tackle the world  after hearing the general authorities speak. Did you know that you can download all the talks for free? That's my plan. I am going to download the General Conference talks to my ipod. Lately I have been listening to my ipod while I fold laundry. It's a great way to distract yourself from the fact that you are actually doing chores. Try it.

What do you do to refresh?

Coming tomorrow..... The secret to my mother-in-law's roast beef uncovered.

I love this post. Conference was so refreshing and I have not even listened to Saturday's sessions yet.

Isn't it funny how the simplest things can be so refreshing?

Naps. Enough said...right?

I love a hot shower after all the kids are in bed. The heat seems to melt the stress of the day away. Refreshing.

A dip in the swimming pool (not in this weather though...too cold).

You are so cute!
I love this post as well.
I did the same thing in our old apartment. I got rid of our coffee table and it opened up so much more space! Maybe coffee tables are meant for big houses with huge rooms?
And I'm sure your hair is super cute!

Hmmm.. my refresher.. I LOVE to clean our townhome. I hate hate hate big cluttered messes. I feel so much better after our home is clean and goldfish are off the floor! : )
