My mom wrote this letter to our Baby Girl. It is my favorite blog post I have ever read. She said I could share it on my blog too. I am going to keep this letter forever.
Dear Granddaughter,
Last week your Mommy found out that you are a girl. I was so pleased to learn about that. I know I will love all my grandchildren, boy or girl, but it was so much fun to learn about my 1st grandchild being a little girl.
We are anxious for your arrival in December of this year. What a wonderful time to be born into the world. Speaking of this world, I hope you like it here. It is full of so much beauty and happiness. It is full of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is full of love, peace, and harmony. You will be welcomed by a beautiful Mom and handsome Dad. They already love you and are looking forward to your arrival.
I am anxious to hold you, love you, and teach you. The minute I see you I will do the same thing my Mom did to all my children when they were born. I will count your fingers and toes and look at your ears and eyes and then give you a kiss on your forehead.
This world is a busy place. You will come down with heavenly scent. Even though it can be tough in this big old world, it is so full of many blessings. In my heart I know you will do good, be happy, and help others. Right now your parents are picking out the best name for you to carry on this earth.
Your grandpa and I look forward to meeting you. Until then, enjoy heaven, and if you get a chance visit with your Grandma Cottle, my Mom, and let her know how much we miss her. We are counting the days and know it will be here before we know it.
