Dear Sophie,

July 25, 2010

Dear Sophie,

Today as we were leaving for church dad set you up by the piano.
You pressed a few keys and looked back at dad in awe.
Then you took both of your hands and began pounding as many keys as you possibly reach.
You loved it.

This made me think, " I wonder what you'll be when you grow up."
Will you grow up to play the piano like your grandma?
Will you love to do math?
Will you grow up to be an author?
Or maybe a chef?

There are so many possibilities in this world. You can be whatever you want to be. There are so many new things, new technology. So many places to go and skills to learn.

Sophie, you can grow up to be whatever you want to be.

But, you are still so young and little. You have plenty of time.
Right now all I want you to be is my little baby girl who plays, giggles, naps, smile, make messes, roll all over the house, rip pages out of magazines, and eat with her fingers.

I will have to wait a long time to see what you will be but that's okay with me!

Love,
Mom

p.s.  happy 7th month birthday tomorrow!

Enjoy every minute with little Sophie. She will be turning 4 before you know it! Sammy will be four on Saturday and I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone.
