Today would have been my grandma Cottle's 75th Birthday. She battled cancer for a long time and died when I was 11. She was an amazing person. I miss her. I have so many memories with her. She always loved playing card games. By the rules, end of story. No cheating allowed. She always had cookies for us. We went boating in the summer and sledding in the winter. She always made sure everything was fair and that Chelsea and I got the exact same amount of candy in a ziplock baggie. She loved the gospel. She took us swimming at the neighbors house. She loved watching the Price is Right. She read me bed time stories when I was younger. She made candy every year around Christmas Time . She always had time for us. She was the best Grandma and a amazing person.

That brings back so many good memories. Grandma was always fair. I also loved how you could say something you needed at the time in front of her and she would always find it in some magic hideway in her house! I loved to watch her get frustrated with grandpa when we played cards too. "LEE!" Cami and I miss the boating food too. Awesome turkey sandwiches, banana bread, no bakes, (usually made by my sweet mom) and other goodies. Grandma always said it like it was too...love that about her. No beating around the bush! WE LOVE YOU GRANDMA AND WILL ALWAYS KEEP OUR MEMORIES OF YOU CLOSE! I wish my kids could have known her. They would have loved her too...

I love your blog Kendra and your post about Grandma. She was an awesome Mom, Grandma, Sister and Friend. I miss her tons especially at this season. . . making candy, decorating her tree, shopping, just spending time together. Sometimes when I'm sad or loney or just needing my Mom, I feel her very near. I love you Mom! Happy 75th Birthday! Love, Cheryl

Kendra,
Thank you Thank you for posting this! I love talking about memories of her especially with people that knew her so well. I miss her sooooooo much. She was one of my most favorite people. I love that I look like her. The part Tara said about her always finding something we needed was so true. We would whisper to our mom what we wanted and she would be like what, what do you need? And she would always magically get it. I was always hungry and she knew when I whispered to my mom that I wanted food and she would go fix me something. I really could go on and on and on. I love her and wish I had more time with her. I think Brian and grandma would have gotten along so well and I would have loved to see her with Max. Thanks again for making me smile, laugh and cry!!
